IED explosion claims eight lives in Niger State
Eight people have been confirmed dead after suspected terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) on Luma Road in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. Reports indicate the blast hit a moving vehicle on Monday, causing multiple fatalities.
The attackers also destroyed a key bridge connecting the communities of Luma, Babanna, and Agwara. The bridge is an important route for residents, especially traders and commuters heading to the Babanna border market, which takes place every Monday.
A similar explosion was earlier reported the same day in Woro, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, where several people were also feared dead.
