Nigeria’s Political Elite Gather for El-Rufai’s Mother’s Final Rites

Top Nigerian political leaders from different parties came together to attend the funeral of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s mother, demonstrating unity beyond political divisions.
Notable attendees included Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Nuhu Ribadu, Uba Sani, Shehu Sani, and Yusuf Zailani, along with other governors, legislators, and key political figures.

The large turnout reflected widespread sympathy following the death of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, as leaders gathered to honour the late matriarch.

However, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was earlier expected at the event, was not seen at the funeral, although he had previously sent condolences to the family.
