With all the happenings in the tech space, reports coming in is that Massimiliano Spalazzi who took over as Jumia Nigeria CEO in 2020 before the pandemic has chosen to step down as the CEO. This news came from the company in a media parley that was held in Lagos on Tuesday.
Massimiliano took over from Juliet Anammah who became the Chairwoman of Jumia Nigeria and Chief Sustainability Officer of the Jumia Group in 2020 and 2023 is the third year for him as CEO.
After a total of 12 years with Jumia, Massmiliano will be replaced by Sunil Natraj who is already experienced as he was a one-time CEO of Jumia Ghana.
Natraj is to start his new role in January 2024 and the goal is for him to lead Jumia Nigeria to greater heights. Natraj said at the event “Jumia wants to be a Nigerian company and not a Lagos company. We want to continue what Spalazzi started,”
