Ahanor Ekhator Hints at Super Eagles Switch

Jeff Ekhator, a striker for Genoa, has indicated interest in representing Nigeria national football team at the senior international level.

Ekhator, who was born in Italy to Nigerian parents, has previously featured for Italy national under-19 team, making 11 appearances and scoring twice.

He has also played for Italy national under-21 team, where he has netted two goals in six matches.

Speaking in a recent interview, the young forward revealed his desire to visit Nigeria soon, hinting at a possible international switch.

“I would like to go there (Nigeria), maybe this summer. They have told me something about it… We are all happy together,” he said.

For Ekhator to officially represent Nigeria, he would need approval from FIFA to complete a nationality switch, having already represented Italy at youth levels.

His potential inclusion would be a boost for the Super Eagles, as Nigeria continues to attract dual-nationality players competing in top European leagues.
