Famous Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has explained why she no longer attends physical church services regularly.
In a Snapchat video shared on Sunday, she said she stopped going to church in person because she often becomes the centre of attention rather than focusing on worship.
According to her, people tend to take pictures of her whenever she attends service, which distracts from the purpose of being there.
She said she now prefers to join church services online.
Akindele stated: “Anytime I go to church, I am always the one they take pictures of. So I will join online.”
The actress had previously revealed in 2022 that she is associated with the Celestial Church of Christ, noting that she often sought spiritual support there privately before later publicly identifying with the church.
Her latest comment has sparked reactions online, with fans divided over her decision to worship remotely.
