Fidelis Ilechukwu has urged his Rangers International FC players to stay fully focused as they push for a ninth Nigeria Premier Football League title.
The Flying Antelopes strengthened their position at the top of the table with a solid 2–0 win over Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium on Sunday.
Chidiebere Nwobodo opened the scoring in the first half, while Godwin Obaje sealed the victory late on, taking his league tally to 12 goals this season.
Despite the important win, Ilechukwu made it clear that the job is far from done. With just two matches left, he stressed the need for concentration and consistency if they are to secure the title.
He admitted he wasn’t entirely satisfied with the team’s second-half performance, noting that they dropped in intensity. However, he praised the defensive unit and goalkeeper for holding firm and ensuring the clean sheet.
His message is straightforward: Rangers are close, but any loss of focus now could cost them the title.
