We’ll attack any US forces in Strait of Hormuz – Iran warns

Iran has issued a strong warning that it will target United States forces if they are seen in or around the Strait of Hormuz.

The warning was issued on Monday by the commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Major-General Ali Abdollahi, and reported by state media.

Abdollahi said any foreign military presence—particularly US forces—approaching or entering the strategic waterway would be attacked.

“We will maintain the security of the Strait of Hormuz with all our might and manage it powerfully. We shall attack any US forces in the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.

He also cautioned commercial vessels and oil tankers to coordinate their movements with Iranian forces operating in the area to avoid any security risks.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route for oil exports, remains a major flashpoint in tensions between Iran and the United States.

Iran’s statement comes after the US Central Command announced plans to begin a “Project Freedom” operation aimed at ensuring freedom of navigation for commercial shipping in the region, a move confirmed by US President Donald Trump.
