The Anambra State Government has intensified efforts to strengthen digital governance with the statewide adoption of its official government email domain, @anambrastate.gov.ng, across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The Anambra State ICT Agency, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday by its Communications and Media Lead, Mrs. Angela Nwanodu, noting that the initiative is aimed at ensuring that official government communications are secure, standardised and easily verifiable.
According to the Agency, the exercise is being coordinated by the Anambra State ICT Agency as part of the state’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The agency explained that the adoption of a unified government email domain would provide the government with a trusted digital identity while protecting official correspondence from impersonation and other cybersecurity threats.
“The initiative would also enhance accountability and boost public confidence by enabling citizens to easily verify that official communications genuinely originate from the Anambra State Government,” it said.
The ICT Agency noted that the initiative is in line with Nigeria’s National Second Level Domain Policy (2022), adding that the Anambra State Executive Council has already achieved full adoption of the official government email domain.
Nwanodu further stated that the agency is currently coordinating the onboarding of all MDAs across the state, with the migration process covering account provisioning, identity verification, staff sensitisation and technical support.
She added that the initiative aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s digital transformation vision of “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere” and supports the ICT Agency’s roadmap towards becoming an AI-First Native Agency.
According to the statement, “This move represents another step in the state’s drive to modernise public service delivery through the deployment of secure and innovative digital technologies.”
