The African Water Facility (AWF) has thrown open another opportunity for African institutions seeking funding for transformative water and sanitation projects, extending the deadline for its 2026 Call for Proposals.
A statement on Monday from the Secretariat of the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) on behalf of The African Water Facility (AWF), said eligible applicants now have until September 25, 2026, to submit proposals for investment-ready water and sanitation projects, with each successful project eligible for project preparation grants of up to €1 million.
It explained that the funding initiative is designed to build a stronger pipeline of bankable projects capable of attracting major investments across the continent’s water and sanitation sector.
The statement said, “Prospective applicants are advised to review the official Call for Proposals and the accompanying Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document before submitting their concept notes, as many common inquiries have already been addressed.
