Ex-ASUBEB Chairman Nwadinobi bags CASSON Golden Jubilee Excellence Award

Former Executive Chairman of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB), Dr. Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi, has been honoured with the Golden Jubilee Excellence in Education and Counselling Award by the Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON).

Nwadinobi received the award alongside other distinguished professional counsellors during the association’s 50th anniversary celebration held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

According to the organisers, she was recognised for her outstanding contributions to the transformation of basic education in Anambra State and her efforts in establishing a functional counselling system in basic schools across the state.

The award was one of the highlights of the golden jubilee celebration, which was themed “Counselling Practice for Sustainable Livelihood and Development.”

The event attracted prominent personalities from government, academia and the private sector, including Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, while former presidential aide, Ambassador Ita Enang, delivered the keynote address.

Other dignitaries at the event included Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Ekiti State First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area and ALGON Chairman, Dr. Uwemedimo Ude, as well as CASSON National President, Prof. Ike Ifelunnu.

The celebration featured goodwill messages from the Local Organising Committee Chairman, Prof. Ime George, and Prof. Ifelunnu, a commemorative lecture delivered by Chairman of CASSON’s Board of Trustees, Prof. Frank Carew, cultural performances, free medical outreach and the ceremonial cutting of the association’s 50th anniversary cake.
