Security forces have killed two suspected terrorists during a patrol operation in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X on Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.
According to the report, the encounter occurred at about 6:20 p.m. on April 30 near Dankwabo village when troops of the 17 Brigade came into contact with armed men during a routine patrol.
Security sources said a gun battle ensued, resulting in the neutralisation of two suspects, while others escaped with injuries.
Items recovered from the scene include an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, two rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a motorcycle, four mobile phones, a power bank, and ₦20,000 in cash.
The sources added that troops have continued follow-up operations aimed at tracking down the fleeing suspects and securing the area against further attacks.
