Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested two suspected human organ traffickers during an operation in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were apprehended at about 6:36 p.m. on July 13 at Atongo community following intelligence-led operations by troops deployed in the area.
The sources said the two suspects are believed to be involved in human organ trafficking activities, although further details of the alleged offences are still under investigation.
According to the sources, the suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The arrest is part of ongoing security operations by Operation Whirl Stroke to dismantle criminal networks and curb violent crimes across Benue and other parts of the North Central region.
