Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued a vigilante member who sustained gunshot wounds during an attack by suspected armed criminals in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 10:09 p.m. on July 14 around the Second Car Wash area of Agingi Village.

The sources said troops of Sector 1 of Operation Enduring Peace, deployed at Agingi, swiftly responded to a distress call and engaged the attackers, forcing them to abandon the assault and flee the area.

During the intervention, the troops rescued the victim, identified as Mr. Musa, a member of a local vigilante group, who had sustained gunshot wounds in the attack.

He was immediately evacuated to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for urgent medical treatment.

Security sources said troops have launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspects, with efforts ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the attack and prevent further criminal activities in the area.
