May Day 2026: Tinubu committed to workers’ welfare – APC Chair, Yilwatda

Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to improving workers’ welfare, according to Nentawe Yilwatda, who extended his congratulations to Nigerian workers on the occasion of the 2026 Workers’ Day.

In a statement issued to mark the celebration, Yilwatda commended workers across all sectors for their resilience, dedication, and contributions to national development, describing them as the backbone of Nigeria’s progress. He also acknowledged the patience and endurance shown by workers amid current economic challenges.

The APC chairman assured that the present administration is focused on implementing policies that prioritise the welfare, dignity, and prosperity of the workforce. He noted that ongoing economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange unification, infrastructure investment, and expanded social intervention programmes, are aimed at repositioning the country for long-term growth.

Yilwatda admitted that the reforms may bring short-term difficulties but stressed that measures are being put in place to cushion the impact on citizens. He expressed confidence that the policies will eventually lead to a more stable, inclusive, and prosperous economy.

He urged Nigerian workers to remain patient and supportive of the government’s development agenda, emphasising that collective effort is key to achieving national progress, while wishing them a fulfilling Workers’ Day celebration.
