Suspected bandits on Saturday launched an early morning attack on a Police Mobile Force camp in Tenebo community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing at least three officers and injuring two others.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of the day, reportedly caused panic in the area as gunshots rang out across the community.
According to reports, the attackers stormed the police camp unexpectedly, overpowering the officers on duty before carrying out the assault.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Ejide Tohun, confirmed the incident and said further details would be made available in due course.
