Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted 10 brand-new motorcycles allegedly destined for a notorious terrorist leader during an intelligence-led operation in Kebbi State.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was conducted on July 20 along the Biu–Kangiwa axis in Arewa Local Government Area as part of ongoing counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations.
The sources said troops intercepted a white commercial bus conveying 10 brand-new Honda motorcycles packaged in cartons and arrested two suspects identified as Salisu Mohammad, 35, and Bashir Musa, 36.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the motorcycles were allegedly being transported for delivery to a notorious terrorist figure identified as Mallam Gehowa, believed to be operating around the Amogoro axis.
Acting on the intelligence obtained during the arrest, the troops immediately launched a follow-up operation, leading to the arrest of four additional suspects who were allegedly sent by the terrorist syndicate to receive the motorcycles.
The operation was carried out without resistance or casualties.
The six suspects, the 10 motorcycles, and the commercial bus used for the transportation of the consignment have since been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kebbi State for further investigation and prosecution.
Military authorities described the operation as a significant disruption of a logistics network supporting terrorist activities in the North-West, reaffirming that Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains committed to denying criminal groups access to mobility, supplies, and other operational resources.
