Troops of the 12 Brigade have rescued two kidnap victims during a rescue operation in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the victims were rescued at about 3:30 p.m. on July 22 by troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Egbe.

The sources said the victims had been abducted on July 21 at Ruga Mascaru in Yagba West Local Government Area before troops launched efforts that led to their successful rescue.

The rescued victims have since been reunited with security authorities for necessary medical evaluation and debriefing, while efforts are ongoing to track down the kidnappers responsible for the abduction.

Military sources said the operation forms part of sustained efforts by security forces to combat kidnapping and other violent crimes across Kogi State.

They added that troops remain committed to maintaining pressure on criminal elements and urged residents to continue providing credible information to support ongoing security operations.
