War: Renewed crisis with US likely to occur soon – Iran

Iran has warned that a renewed conflict with the United States could happen soon amid escalating tensions between both countries.

A senior Iranian military commander, Mohammad Jafar Asadi, made the statement on Saturday, just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with Iran’s latest negotiating proposal.

METROTIMESNIGERIA recalls that Iran submitted a draft agreement to mediator Pakistan on Thursday evening as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts.

The crisis, which began on February 28, has remained on hold since April 8, following a stalled round of peace talks held in Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters, Trump said he was “not satisfied with what they’re offering,” blaming the deadlock on what he described as “tremendous discord” within Iran’s leadership.

In response, Asadi warned that “renewed conflict between Iran and the United States is likely,” according to statements published by Iran’s Fars News Agency.

Meanwhile, Iran’s judiciary chief, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, said on Friday that Iran remains open to negotiations but will not accept imposed peace conditions, insisting that diplomacy must respect national sovereignty.
